Calling All 9-5 Warriors, Your Ticket To Escaping The Grind Mind Is Here.

We get it.

Laboring away at your day job isn't exactly how you might want to be spending your morning and afternoon. So why not end your day with a little excitement? Why not reinvigorate your mind with some creativity and expression? Spark up that frontal lobe and get the creative juices flowing, it's time to transform yourself from a corporate zombie into a brave knight, a butt-kickin' princess, or whatever the heck you want to be!

Who Can Participate?

Don't get the wrong idea...

This jam is for anyone and everyone. However, it is specifically made for those who have little time on their hands to dedicate to the incredibly extensive process of making a game. Those particular folks are typically the 9-5'ers, ( or 7-3'ers or 5-1'ers or college schoolers or whatever ). So, this jam is for you. This is to help level the playing field and connect you with folks who live the same grind, and love the same things.

Is It Strictly Solo Dev?

Not quite.

You are allowed to recruit and work with up to 3 people. Considering the 9-5'ers are usually short on the time needed to coordinate with team members, it is encouraged to work solo so everyone is on level playing ground. But if you have a close group, feel free to have em join in the making of your project, nothing beats sharing in the creation of great games! Just be sure to credit each contributor.

Theme / Constraints

To be determined.

So, How Do I Win?

Hold your horses bucko.

Games will be judged on various criteria, all of which can be rated by those who have participated in the jam. These are listed based on their weight, meaning the higher criteria on this list hold more value than the lower.

  • Fun: Your game should be fun to play, otherwise, why play it!
  • Theme: How well did you incorporate the specified theme into your game?
  • Creative: Your game should be unique and thoughtful.
  • Mechanics: Does your gameplay work correctly?
  • Completeness / Aesthetics: Does your game feel complete? We know it's tough to complete a game in a week, and thus this has the lowest weight.
