Hey guys! I wanted to make a game jam for my 20th birthday, and I thought "Why not make it last 20 days?". This is a very beginner-friendly jam that anyone is able to join, whether you are entirely new to games/media creation or highly experienced. There is no reward for winning, this is for anyone and everyone to have fun and make stuff.
I had a list of themes I wanted to do, and I thought the best one would be "Breaking the Loop", so make sure your game/media is themed around this. It doesn't have to be breaking out of a loop like the theme says, but it could be a play on the words if you so please.
There aren't that many rules, but they are pretty important:
- No NSFW or discrimination
- Nothing meant to be hurtful towards others
- Make sure it fits with the theme in some way
- You can only use assets specifically made for the jam*
- Make sure your game is playable on Windows, as that is what I use to play games.*
* These are only for games, as other media like Art and Music don't really use "Assets" or need anything special to be used on a Windows computer.
This is my first ever game jam, so if anything goes wrong, I will be sure to address it and hopefully fix it for the next jam.
These will be judged in 3 criteria for games:
1. Theming - How well does it stick to the theme of the jam?
2. Satisfaction - Is it fun to play, and does it have a good fun to time ratio?
3. Clarity - How good are the visuals and audio?
With any other media, like Music or Art, it will skip the second criteria.
If you want a character to use, here's my main boi Emerald (bonus points if you use him in your game/media (not really))
Please also remember to treat other posts with respect and give them positive reinforcements or advice instead of harsh criticisms and negativity.
