Hello there, and welcome to the SILLY TTRPGS JAM!

We know it---it's October, a month commonly associated with the spooky, the creepy and the outright bloody. Because of this, we wanted to do a jam NOT related to Halloween or horror this year--

In this jam, you will make a tabletop game-related entry (You can make it in either videogame or analog format---whatever is more comfy for you) that is silly. That if it were a person, it'd be a goofy goober. A jolly fella.

Now if you need a more "serious" definition of what we're looking for, we want you to make either something absurd, cute, ridiculous, sweet but silly, or all of the above.

We will also be making a bundle out of the games included in this jam (from the participants that give us permission to put their game in the bundle of course). The bundle will be PWYW (Pay What You Want), which means that per default it's free to download but for the player to keep all games in their itch.io library permanently (to receive updates of the game and so on), they will need to pay at least 1 USD. This allows for a lot of people to discover you, your game and probably toss a dollar or more to the bundle (all earning for the bundle will be shared between all participants equally!).

We plan for the bundle to last a few weeks to a month, it really depends. This is the first time we will be doing a bundle :'D

THE THEME

The theme is COMPLETELY OPTIONAL (AKA you don't need it to make a game for this jam!!)

The theme is: What A Great Day To Be Alive! Feel free to interpret it however you wish if you decide to use it.

THE RULES

  1. Make sure your entry is tabletop-related! This includes but is not limited to: Tabletop-style videogames (such as deckbuilders or party games), TTRPGs, lyric/literary games, supplements for other tabletop games, or asset packs that ARE for tabletop gaming (such as icons or illustrations for rulebooks).
  2. This jam is NOT ranked, and doesn't have any prizes at all. This is NOT a competition. We're just doing this for fun! Want to work on an old project you haven't finished yet but is silly and tabletop-related? Go for it! Wanna make an entry specific to the jam! Go for it!!
  3. Don't use stuff you don't have the permission to use. This includes copyrighted material. (Feel free to use premade game assets you have the permission to use though!)
  4. Feel free to give feedback to other entries in the jam! Be sure to do it RESPECTFULLY though! (Basically, don't be rude when giving your opinion on others' games!)
  5. NO NSFW/+18 GAMES. This means no nudity, sexual themes, sex scenes and pornographic material overall. Mild blood and violence is okay, but NO extreme/realistic gore. Remember this is a silly jam! Try to keep it E for Everyone (but PG-13 is also fine)!
  6. The following entry types are allowed: Videogames, tabletop/physical games, supplements for tabletop games and asset packs (specifically for tabletop games).
  7. Multiple entries are allowed! Go wild with your imagination and designer power! You can do it!! (Just don't spam entries if they are NOT related to this jam)
  8. The jam entry must be of easy access at least to us (Magikya Studios) so we can moderate the entries (AKA, to make sure the entries are appropiate for this jam and are not breaking any rules). It's preferred that you make the game free, free with optional donations or paid with community copies, but if you want to make your entry completely paid PLEASE send us a key so we can play/check it out/moderate it! If you don't, we will sadly have to remove the entry.
  9. Be respectful, to both the jam and the people participating in it. Absolutely DON'T SPAM UNRELATED ENTRIES TO MULTIPLE JAMS JUST FOR PROMOTION OR FOR ANY REASON OVERALL.
  10. Don't crunch!! Be sure to do your daily life, take rests often and have fun! If your entry is unfinished near the end of the jam, don't worry! Submit it either way!
  11. Also! If you plan to make your game included in the bundle, be sure to not use unmodified, AI-generated content (we highly prefer you do this even if you won't participate in the bundle). If you need help with stuff like art and game design, look for a team in the community board or the Discord server! Hell, I (Barbilou) may be even able to help as an artist a bit if this is needed.
  12. Please follow these rules, and, if you join the Discord, follow the rules there aswell. Thank you in advance.

Sorry for the long list of rules! We just want to make sure this jam is a friendly and fun space for everyone ;u;

Also, thanks for checking our jam out! We'll be leaving the entirety of October for you to make and submit your entry (and you can start earlier if you need), so take it easy, don't stress and most importantly, have fun!

If you need help in stuff like getting recommendations for tools and engines, have any questions or are looking for a team, feel free to ask in the Community board or the Discord server!

Like we mentioned before, we have a Discord server you can join in case you want to form teams, get help, meet other people and just chill overall!

Join our Discord server here!

Take care, and have fun!
