We are beyond excited to introduce the newest offering from the Indie Game Academy. The Indie Game Foundry program provides an educational foundation to help new or existing game developers start their own studios, step them through the process of formal business formation, and help guide them through the game development process, from product research, forming a team, managing a production timeline, helping develop marketing and funding avenues, and releasing a fully developed game over a 12-month timeline. For more information, check out here!
The concept is simple. Over the course of a week, you will create a game with your team. If you are applying to Foundry, this is a great opportunity to showcase how well your team works together. You will leave with a finished game prototype and pitch deck to submit with your application. If you are NOT applying, this is perfect for adding a portfolio piece to your resume and to work with a team you may or may not have jammed with before!
The game must be original, never submitted to another jam, and created during the designated jam period. There are no restrictions on the type of game, nor will a specific themed be enforced. You will have 6 days to create the game, and then about 2.5 days to work on a pitch for this game. Please join us at our Kickoff on November 12 for what a pitch is and how to make it successful! If you cannot make the kickoff, we will be recording this to be reviewed after!
Regardless of if your team will be applying to the Foundry Cohort 0, we will be giving personalized feedback for each game + pitch. So this is a great opportunity to get real. actionable feedback on your submissions!
We do recommend the below for a baseline team composition:
November 12 - 6pm ET - Jam Kickoff and Pitch Workshop
November 18 - 11:59pm ET - Game Jam Ends
November 21 - 7pm ET - Pitches are due for feedback/Celebration
